QUEST MOTORS GROUP LIMITED

(Trading as SLM Group)

MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT

This statement is made pursuant to Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 which places an obligation upon businesses of a certain size such as SLM to produce a statement which sets out the steps we have taken and are continuing to take to ensure that modern slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or our supply chain.

Modern slavery encompasses slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. IT is a criminal offence and is a blight on all societies of the world, including our own. We operate a zero-tolerance approach to all forms of slavery and human trafficking including child labour and are committed to acting ethically and with integrity and transparency in all of our business dealings and to putting effective safeguards and controls in place to safeguard against any form of modern slavery taking place within the business or our supply chain and have a comprehensive Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy in place.

Our Business

St Leonards Motors Ltd, trading as SLM Group, which includes wholly owned subsidiaries Style Motors Limited and Quest Motors Group Limited, is one of the leading retail car dealership groups in Sussex, Kent, Essex, Surrey, Hampshire and East Anglia. It has been a family-owned business for over 60 years. SLM is proud of its association with a number of major motor manufacturers, including Toyota, Lexus, Vauxhall, Nissan, Seat, Cupra, Renault, Dacia and Suzuki with whom we operate a number of new and used car dealerships. In addition, we offer parts and servicing at each of our main sites, plus operate two specialist used car sites and two separate body repair centres. Our group has just under 400 employees all based in England and operates exclusively in the UK.

All of the new car manufacturers that SLM are associated with, operate to the standards of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and SLM is committed to ensuring adherence to the highest standards of these manufacturers.

Our Suppliers

Even though all of our suppliers are based in the UK, SLM is committed to ensuring that there is no modern slavery or human trafficking taking place in the supply chain. In the absence of an identifiable high risk of slavery, given the type and geographical nature of our business, it is nevertheless our expectation that all of our suppliers comply with all applicable laws and regulations.

As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk, we have systems in place to: -

  • Identify and asses potential risk areas in our supply chains
  • Mitigate the risk of slavery and human trafficking occurring in our supply chains
  • Monitor and keep under review potential risk areas in our supply chains, through regular checks
  • Protect whistleblowers
  • Operate a robust recruitment policy to include eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees

To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we have developed a comprehensive Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy, which we will discuss with suppliers to ensure compliance and which forms part of our staff handbook. It will be read by all of our staff and furthermore all senior managers and Board directors receive training upon it.

This statement has been duly approved by the Board of Directors on 6th May 2025.

This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for our financial year ending December 2024.
